- Post-Doctoral Fellow
Growing up in Maine, Elyse has always had a special connection to New England. She attended Smith College and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2004. After spending two years working in the Psychiatry Department at Children’s Hospital Boston, Elyse began her doctoral work in Counseling Psychology at Colorado State University (CSU). Trained as a generalist, Elyse’s clinical experiences are broad. She has worked with the campus drug and alcohol treatment center, the University Counseling Center, and the Career Center at CSU. Additionally, Elyse has provided services in a community counseling center, a neuropsychological assessment center, and a women’s health center in Colorado. Elyse has developed a strong interest in the area of health psychology – particularly in the domain of women’s health. Her dissertation research focuses on the intersection of reproductive health in young women and psychological well-being. Clinically, Elyse works from an Interpersonal Process perspective; this approach emphasizes the ways in which relationships shape individuals’ sense of self and the world. In her leisure time, Elyse enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling near and far, and cooking new things.
