Director of Training

Growing up on the coast in New York, Tricia always knew that she wanted to study psychology and live near the ocean. She was raised with strong social justice and feminist values which developed into a life long interest in and committment to activism and advocacy. Tricia began her formal studies and research at the State University of New York at Albany and received her B.A. degree in psychology.  She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the Ohio State University and completed training programs at the counseling centers at the Ohio State University and Colorado State University. She has published in the areas of eye-witness accuracy, conflict resolution and multicultural identity development.

Tricia's clinical and supervisory work is strongly influenced by developmental, feminist, and relational theories. She is in awe of the human spirit and our ability to use relationships to grow and develop. Tricia has a special interest in grief, resiliency, and holistic health practices. She has studied mindfulness and other forms of meditation and uses these in her work. Tricia has a a great deal of passion for supervision and training and has served as board member for several local and national professional organizations including the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA). She is honored to be a recipient of the New Hampshire Psychological Association's Margaret Riggs Award for Distinguished Contribution to Psychology for her work in training and supervision and the Joyce Gibbs Social Justice Award for her advocacy work with women.  Currently she is privileged to serve as a member of the UNH Women's Commission and the Sexual Assault Response Team.

Outside of work, Tricia enjoys spending time with friends and family, finding new recipes to try, hiking in all seasons, and reading. One of her biggest joys is hiking in the woods with her family and their exuberent dog leading the way.
